We are not 100% certain on whether the rug is faux or real, but in our opinion we feel that the rug is made from a real cow based on feeling the texture of the fur and the look of the rug's overall appearance. The underside looks to be light-blue dyed suede. In regards to condition, there's some dust and the underside is dirty from being on the floor. The rug would greatly benefit from a good cleaning. The fur length is around 0.5 inches. Listed measurements are approximate.
